Norayne McCreery

Norayne McCreery

Licensed Director

Norayne and her family moved to Brecksville in 1949. She grew up next door to her grandparents, Yaro and Estelle, who built their home here in 1932. Her parents, Norman and Jayne, (yes, that is where the name Norayne came from) built their Fitzwater Road home from what had originally been the Nosek family stable. Norayne, at age 14, began working in the family business at the funeral home on East 55th and Broadway. After graduation from Brecksville High School in 1964, she earned her degree from the University of Kentucky in 1968. She returned to Brecksville, completed her funeral director's apprenticeship and became licensed in 1969. She and Dennis were married in 1971 and have two sons, Doug, a mechanical engineer, and Scott, a fifth generation funeral director and embalmer in the family business. Norayne has enjoyed many activities over the years including such things as Scouting, SWARM (a group dedicated to recognizing high school students' achievements), Centaur (a volunteer program to assist handicapped adults and children through horseback riding), the Red Hat Society, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Alumni Association and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). If you don't see her out and about at the funeral home, she is probably busy working behind the scenes or in the business office. Her love of all things equestrian (from her grandfather and her mother) continues to this day. She enjoys all of the critters in the backyard of their home (with the exception of the coyotes), swimming, and boating with family and friends.
