Joanne M. (Walsh) Spohn

Joanne "Joan" M. Spohn age 89 passed away peacefully July 19th, 2019. Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband John T. Spohn, son Patrick (Marcy, surviving) and Brother James (Sarah) Walsh. She is survived by her children, Linda Spohn (Fred Hunker), Mary Tamburo (Sam) and Michael (Sue) as well as 6 grandchildren Jamie (Kevin Abadi), Julie, Jill, John, Mikhail Hunker and Michael. Joanne was a resident at Laurel Lake Retirement Community in Hudson, OH. She was born in Columbus, OH where she attended St. Joseph’s Academy and went on to graduate from Ohio State with a degree in Business Administration and later became the Treasurer of Independence, Brooklyn and North Royalton City School Districts. Joanne was active in Christ Child Society, St Basil Church and the Brecksville Women’s Club. She enjoyed travel, education, bridge, gardening, attempts at golf and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. The family will receive visitors in celebration of Joanne’s life at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, Ohio 44141 Friday July, 26th from 4-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St Basil Catholic Church 8700 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44141 on Saturday, July 27th at 10:00 am (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at Brecksville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to St Basil Liturgical Tribute Fund, 8700 Brecksville Road Brecksville,  OH 44141.
